Christmas is fast approaching. Actually, its almost here (eek!). I haven’t started thinking about the gift list as yet. Usually, I am a little more organized with what I plan to gift my family and close loved ones with. I have had time to think about what I might like, however, and thought I would share it with you in case you might know someone who might also enjoy them.
It feels a little selfish of me to be considering myself first, but there have been so many exciting books and cookbooks released lately that I started a little list in my head of my top wants. There are certainly more than five (way more), but I’m not really that greedy. Hubby please note, I would be happy to receive one of these five (hint hint).
I have been working my way through my pile on new books lately, feeling like a sponge. I think I may actually have a little addition to paleo cookbooks. I can’t get enough of them. I enjoy flicking through their pretty pages and many of them are released by people I closely follow on blogs or podcasts. They also offer so much information on nutrition and paleo, as well as the recipes.

My Top 5 Paleo Cookbooks Christmas Wishlist
1. Real Life Paleo by Stacy Toth from the blog Paleo Parents.
This book has only just been released (literally in the last week) and I want to get my hands on it. As well as offering a huge amount of recipes, Stacy and her husband have apparently compiled a wealth of helpful information, including a 3 phased approach to eating paleo. I follow the Paleo Parents on their family friendly blog and the podcast Stacy shares with Sarah Ballantyne (The Paleo Mom).
2. Eat Drink Paleo Cookbook by Irena Macri from the blog by the same name Eat Drink Paleo.
This book looks gorgeous. I am a fan of Irena’s blog and the recipes she shares. I also love that Irena is a fellow Australian.
3. Mediterranean Paleo Cooking by Caitlin Weeks from Grass Fed Girl, Chef Nabil Boumrar and Diane Sanfilippo from Balanced Bites.
This book, to me, shares the best of one of the healthiest diets (the mediterranean diet) and offers an authentic cultural twist on eating paleo. The meals all look like food that you want to share with your family and friends, whether or not it is in fact paleo. It strikes me as fresh and ‘real’ food.
4. The Paleo Kitchen by Juli Bauer from PaleOMG and George Bryant from Civilised Caveman.
This book looks to help you create basic paleo kitchen skills and has a great collection of ‘normal’ daily comfort recipes converted to paleo. I love Georges personality and humour (and his love of bacon) and hope that that comes through in the cookbook. Both bloggers are on my must follow list and the dishes they have come up with for this book sound very family friendly.
5. Against All Grain – Meals Made Simple by Danielle Walker of the blog Against All Grain.
I loved Danielle’s first book Against All Grain and when I heard this second book was to be released, I knew it would be as gorgeous and full of useful family friendly meals. Meals Made Simple offers a simplified (obviously) version of many popular recipes. It would a great addition for beginners and long term paleo practitioners alike.
There are so many more paleo cookbooks I could list. Each of these books though has me drooling in the anticipation of the recipes. I feel I am invested in the authors other ventures and am excited to see them share more and more recipes for me to try.
